Qualifications

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
  • Five (5) years painting experience
  • Valid Mississippi motor vehicle operator’s license
  • Experience in air and airless equipment
  • Proven painter II performance responsibilities
  • Must be insurable by the company that provides insurance for all Jackson Public School drivers
  • Applicant must submit to and pass drug screening test as outlined by district policy

Job Goal

To insure all facilities are constructed and maintained in a manner consistent with the highest standards of efficiency, safety, economy, and quality.

Essential Functions

  • Mixes and matches paint to obtain desired color and consistency
  • Estimates quantities and time for assigned projects
  • Demonstrates proficiency with air and airless equipment
  • Repairs and/or finishes sheetrock
  • Removes damaged plaster and repairs to original condition
  • Finishes furniture
  • Performs other related duties as requested or assigned

Evaluation

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of personnel.
